David Wilcock
David Wilcock (March 8, 1973 – April 20, 2026) was an American paranormal writer, scientific researcher, Ascension guide, popular media personality, and YouTuber. He was a significant figure and forerunner in the Ascension, Disclosure and consciousness expansion movement. Wilcock suggested that he was in telepathic contact with enlightened extradimensional light beings in order to support humanity through a significant consciousness shift during the planetary ascension. Furthermore, some of his adherents believe he was the reincarnation of Edgar Cayce.

Career
He established himself as a significant figure in the Ascension and disclosure movement, which advocates for the end of what it believes is United States Government secrecy about the existence of aliens and UFOs, and authored a number of books. In 2004, North Atlantic Books published Wilcock and Wynn Free's The Reincarnation of Edgar Cayce? which the publisher describes as presenting a theory that "Wilcock might indeed be [Edgar] Cayce’s reincarnation" and in which Wilcock and Free go on to posit that humanity would soon undergo a transformation from matter to less dense states of energy.
Wilcock hosted the Cosmic Disclosure website and facilitated classes in his "Ascension Mystery School" which, he generously shared important research, whistleblower testimony, and findings during personal experiences he amassed during his many consciousness explorations into multiple dimensions. He intended to support participants to develop their personal consciousness through sharing more unconditional love, Compassion and developing their own direct connection with God or the Universe, as well as recognizing their multidimensional Lightbody or "Body of Light" to help them prepare for the upcoming consciousness shift at the end of the Astrological Age or Precession of the Equinoxes.
In 2012, E. P. Dutton published Wilcock's The Source Field Investigations: The Hidden Science and Lost Civilizations Behind the 2012 Prophecies, which Kirkus Reviews described as chronicling many ancient wisdom teachings of previous civilizations that were predicting that the year 2012 would be "the start of an epoch that may usher in a higher state of consciousness". According to publisher Penguin Random House, Wilcock's books Awakening in the Dream and The Ascension Mysteries were both New York Times bestsellers.
From 2015 to 2018 Wilcock co-hosted, with Corey Goode, a program on Gaia called Cosmic Disclosures discussing whistleblower testimony about Military Abductions and Secret Space Programs. Wilcock's 2018 documentary style film Above Majestic, according to Vice, makes the case that "a Secret Space Program partnered with reptilian aliens occupy large swaths of Antarctica in underground tunnels and breakaway civilizations, and are preparing for the next stages of enslaving humanity through many nonhuman agendas, potentially staging a fake alien invasion, while controlling the world’s governments and banks". A review of the film on Movieweb describes it as advancing the theory that the September 11 attacks were an combination of dark cabal humans working with negative aliens as a conspiracy cover up". The following year, Wilcock produced the documentary style film The Cosmic Secret, starring David Wilcock and an array of expert researchers, scientists and archaeologists offering their perspectives on humanity's long-lost cosmic origins.
From 2010 on, Wilcock hosted a YouTube channel that eventually garnered millions of followers. He regularly appeared as an expert researcher on the History Channel program Ancient Aliens.
He had become the "director of advanced technology" of Stavatti Aerospace by 2023.[2]
Statement from the family of David Wilcock
David Wilcock took his own life on April 20, 2026, after a long struggle with depression and overwhelming financial debt. His family, and chosen family, hope this loss encourages more focused attention to mental health care access.
David was born on March 8, 1973, in Schenectady, NY. During his childhood in Upstate New York, he was a curious, sensitive, and introspective child, drawn to reading, science, research, and questions about how the universe works. He spent much of his time journaling and developing a vibrant, imaginative inner life. He laughed easily and had a big heart. He loved animals, meditation, music, scientific study, and lemon cake. From childhood, he had a deep curiosity about telepathy, lucid dreaming, the occult, palmistry, and the predictions of Nostradamus. Like many young people, he experienced painful periods of struggle and difficulty.
David grew up in a close-knit family that cherished music and art, was in his first band as a teenager, and played many instruments throughout his life. He developed strong interests in psychology and spirituality, subjects that would later shape his ethos and vocation. He attended State University of New York at New Paltz and received a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
David spent his life writing extensively about subjects he was deeply invested in. Some of David's most consistent messages concerned the importance of focusing one's energies on service to others and the divinity of all human life. He cultivated a wide community around him based on these tenets.
He was known to the world as a New York Times bestselling author with a voluminous body of writing, including the books: The Source Field Investigations, The Synchronicity Key, The Ascension Mysteries, Awakening in the Dream, and The Reincarnation of Edgar Cayce? (co-authored with Wynn Free).
David was widely known as a media personality and lecturer examining issues such as UFOs, UAPs, and the paranormal. But this only tells part of the story of a life that, like any other, unfolded through internal struggles, evolving beliefs, and a quest for meaning. David lived in a time shaped by the internet, and he himself shaped a segment of it. This powerful medium of communication magnifies both connection and confusion. Ideas travel quickly, expand logarithmically, and reshape thought structures. In remembering David, it is important to hold more than one truth at once: that some of his work raised concerns about misinformation, and that he was also a person who was on an eternal quest for clarity.
Beyond his public persona, he was a human navigating the same complexities and vulnerabilities that shape all our lives. His passing is a reminder of how important it is to meet one another with open minds and compassion in our hearts. The loss of a life can turn our focus to our shared humanity, whether we agree on life’s unanswered questions or not.
David’s life will be remembered in a myriad of ways by many different people because of the far-reaching nature of his teachings and because he considered his audience a community. While he was known as a charismatic and engaging teacher to fans, those who were closest to him knew the depth of his untreated mental health struggles intimately. Many who knew him from afar have speculated that there is a cover-up involving his death, but we can assure you there was no foul play.
If you or someone you know is battling with thoughts of suicide, call or text 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. To honor David’s memory and support others experiencing mental health struggles, donations may be made in his name to the Crisis Text Line: www.crisistextline.org or the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention: www.afsp.org.
